ReplyDeleteabout two weeks ago, telling him the error codes my washing machine was showing, which I already knew what they mean't as I had looked it up online. He came out wiggled and jiggled a few things and said youre right about the codes, charged me 80 to tell me what I already knew, but he did not take the back off of the washer as I watched him.
So, of course he cashed the check. Could not come back for another four days. O.k. the part had to come in, fine. So, he was her for another hour when he came back, then admitted to me he was sorry that he accidentally broke another part. Almost in the same breath he said, I have a buddy that deals in appliance parts I am sure I can get a used one for you. I looked at him in disbelief !! almost in the same breath he continued by saying but if I have to get you a new part I won't charge you for it???/ Really? I told him I wanted new. So this was on a Friday when he came to repair it, and broke something else. So, then he informs me he is sure it will work, but the part will not be in until the following WED, or THURS!! another several days. He got ready to leave, I said wait I need to know if it is going to work before you go. He turned the washer on and it filled with water, he said there you go, but he would not wait, I had handed him the cash already and asked for a receipt. The washer had not gone into any agitation. I thought he was putting his tools into his vehicle and was going to come back to make sure what the washer was doing and give me a receipt for the cash he just got from me.
Here we are today, no receipt, I had to pay another repair person to actually get the washing machine working. Now I have looked and cannot find any record that he is licensed and bonded in the State of Oregon. He even told me I should have the receipt in the mail, even when he came back to fix the part he broke, as I told him if needed we would go to Small Claims.
Check his license better than I did, make sure you get a receipt, discuss the receipt thing better than I did, do not give him cash, give him a check if you use his services, at least you will have a paper trail, so you can have some recourse if he breaks something on your apppliances that was not broke before he worked on them.
